(A review from a non-gamer)

Stepping away from the series’ main storyline, we follow a series of small vignettes over twenty years, showcasing the love and companionship that still can occur in this twisted, infected world. It takes a break from the depressive world plagued by cordyceps creatures and instead hones in on a relationship formed between two unlikely characters.

Instead of following the main plot, we step aside to Bill and Frank and discover how they met and lived for two decades from the day of the outbreak.

Ellie learns more about the world.

To begin with, we continue the voyage with Joel and Ellie. They carry on after the events involving Tess’ death (you can read my episode 2 review here.) with Joel clearly still trying to process it. Ellie makes it apparent that she know’s it’s not her fault that Tess died and she won’t blame herself. I’d have to agree and I’m glad a long-winded grudge against Ellie hasn’t been made apparent by Joel.

Ellie brims with curiosity-filled questions, leading to Joel explaining how the virus initially would have spread…
