Why you should reach 100 followers organically.

I’ve discovered the “Follow for Follow” and “Clap for Clap” ick…

As someone who writes because they enjoy writing, looking at successful monetized writers on this platform does give me inspiration to hopefully be properly monetized one day too. To earn good money doing something you love is what a lot of people want in life. But my number one reason for being present is because I love discussing, researching and writing. My profile also acts as a future portfolio and I like seeing how my articles improve from submission to submission.

And many others feel the same way, but some are more inclined to earn money for money’s-sake rather than for passion — and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing either, everyone is entitled to earn money how they please, (obviously legally). But it goes without saying that it takes time and work, success doesn’t just happen overnight.

(It is worth saying that I applied for the partnership programme before the 100-follower target came into effect but I never submitted my tax details and left Medium for a couple of years (You can read about that decision and why I decided to leave here). I submitted my tax details on the day of writing this after I discovered previous partnership members could still be monetized. But my feelings on this topic still apply, as I only want organic growth
